Border Security Force (BSF) recruits the Assistant Sub Inspector and Head Constable through the following selection procedure:

There are 2 phases in selection procedure:

1. First Phase:

Written Exam.
Descriptive Test.

Pattern for BSF Written Exam:

Part Subject Marks
Part I Physics 50
Part II Mathematics 50
Part III Chemistry 50
Part IV English and GK 50

Total number of questions: 100

Time duration: 2 hours.

Syllabus for GK:

    Current Affairs.
    History.
    Geography.
    General Science.

Descriptive Test:

Candidates who qualify the written exam will in Descriptive Test.

Syllabus for Descriptive Test:

For Assistant Sub Inspector (RM) post:

The descriptive paper consists of 200 marks. The subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Electronic subjects.

For Head Constable (RO) post:

1. The descriptive paper consists of two parts. The descriptive paper consists of 200 marks. The subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Electronic subjects.

2. Dictation Test – 100 Marks
